Re-roofs or Tear-offs

1. Protect windows, doorways, surrounding ground and shrubbery with tarps or temporary protective structures.
   
   
2. Locate a dumpster or trailer nearby where roofing debris can be safely and conveniently contained for disposal. The roofing debris is cleaned up and disposed of each day.
   
   
3. Completely remove all existing layers of roofing, and sweep roof clean of dust and debris prior to installation of new shingles.
   
   
4. Replace roofing underlayment (felt).
   
   
5. Clean out all gutters.
   
   
6. Sweep and rinse off roof after installation.
   
   
7. Rake the yard and bushes and sweep driveways and sidewalks.
   
   
8. Use rolling magnet to pick up stray nails.

Flashing

When re-roofing your home, all flashing should be replaced and properly installed. This includes flashings around chimneys, plumbing vents, walls, dormers, skylights, eaves, etc. Even though flashing may appear to be sound, small cracks in old flashing are hard to detect and we do not take the risk of a possible leak.

Roof Decking

After removing the old roofing, the decking should be cleaned of debris and inspected. Any damaged, rotten, weak, or warped decking should be replaced prior to installation.
